The story:
Yirgacheffe has become famous for coffees with distinct, berry, fruit flavours. The thick vegetation is a product of the warm tropical climate with moderate wet and dry seasons. Most coffee is shade-grown by small producers using organic practices. The multitude of micro-regions creates complex profiles depending on the washing station a particular coffee is from.
The Shale washing station is located near the town of Worka, in Ethiopia's Yirgacheffe region. This station represents nearly 1,500 nearby smallholder producers that deliver freshly-picked cherries throughout the harvest season.

Their coffee is carefully selected with the end-cup in mind, roasted in small batches then tested and tasted before it gets to the retail shelves or the bar.
