José Renato, 27, is a second generation coffee producer whose story begins when his father could no longer care for the property in 2014. He and his wife, Tainã, assumed responsibility for caring for the coffee very early as they were still students. Differently from his father, he decided to invest in the quality of the coffees. In the first year they reaped excellent results, achieving fifth place in the Cup of Excellence. Since then their lives have changed completely. They’ve become well-known and valued in the market as producers of excellence. They also see a promising future, full of opportunities, that inspires them today.
Chácara Vista Alegre is committed to quality and grows year by year. The couple has two children, Benjamin and Sara, and they hope they will follow in the footsteps, becoming the third generation of coffee producers in the family. The producers are constantly attentive to novelties in the field, such as new crop treatments, new varieties, harvesting methods, post-harvest processing, markets, etc.
The harvest is 100% selective and manual, and done by women to obtain a better selection of ripe cherries.
ickle coffee is run by sisters, Rowena and Kate, with a focus on roasting exceptionally high quality specialty coffee, and a desire to only roast coffees they would love to drink everyday. All their coffee is sourced from ethical coffee importers who use sustainable practices and give back to the coffee grower’s communities and invest in the quality of their livelihoods as well as the quality of the coffee produced.
